Well, look at this. It's been less of a week and I'm already neglecting the blog.
It's not that I lack time for proper writing, mind you. It's more that I lack a proper topic.

So instead of ranting about anything, I'll write down a to-do list and several random thoughts.

To-do list:
  • Find some proper forums with an interesting off topic section and a relatively small yet active community
  • Start looking around to join a new gym next Monday (unless I decide to go back to my old one)
  • Find a way to show my love and appreciation to my girlfriend.
  • Draw. Draw. Draw. And while I'm at it, read all of those art books.
  • Get a haircut.
  • Tidy up this place. <_<
  • ..Then tidy up my computer. >_>
  • Write a proper blog entry. Probably about some comic book and/or random cartoon from the late 80's.

And considering the time I took to write this down, distractions included, I probably could have actually finished off at least one of my goals. Oh well.

In other news, was Britney Spears half dead/nervous in her latest performance or is this supposed to be her new standard?
By the way - Was anyone else reminded of this?

Or should I say One More Month? Because that's how long Marvel is making comic book fans wait for the second installment of Spider-Man's latest adventure.

The premise is simple: Following the events of Civil War, during which Spider-Man unmasked himself in order to support the Super Hero Registration Act, a hitman was sent by an old foe to claim the life of the wall crawler. A bullet meant for him ended up going through his Aunt May's body.
One More Day narrates the desperate quest of Peter Parker, trying to find a way to help his old aunt survive.
And it gets the ball rolling for the upcoming Brand New Day a follow up which promises many changes in Spider-Man's life.

Personally, I can't wait to see those changes.

In fact, my eagerness to read this particular issue even led to a dear friend sending me a draft of what should have been the cover.

Hey. It may not be Steven McNiven, but it definitely makes more sense than anything Straczynski could come up with.
I kid, I kid. The man is good. Just don't give him too much creative control over a character.

Once I was finally able to read the issue, I managed to enjoy it despite a couple of continuity mistakes. (I'm looking at you, Stark Tower)
Quesada's art was surprisingly good, and the Spider-Man/Iron Man match up was handled pretty well.
It's actually strange to read JMS writing Iron Man as a person with feelings and regrets, and not as a villain with a twirly mustache.

All things considered, I'm definitely counting the days till next issue. (And hopefully, next draft)

I'll be honest with you here. I don't know why I'm blogging.
I have never known, whenever I try to do it.

Sure, I could say I'm conveying emotion or ideas to express myself; Trying to be entertaining, amusing, thoughtful. Letting out something that I may otherwise suppress or forget.
Making a journal, maybe, to remember mistakes and triumphs. Or only a record of things that have brought a smile to my face.

I could give you a hundred reasons, and it'd still not answer the question.

Am I blogging because of myself? Or am I blogging because of you?

If it's the former, why would I even bother to make it entertaining to read? Why would you be reading it at all?
And if it's the latter, how long will it be until I start typing about things I think I'm supposed to be writing? Things you want to read about?

I doubt there's a single response.

But let me tread that line in between, and maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to use those moments of inspiration when answers become clear to try and reply.
